The outer Ganj wala Darwaza (Lahori Gate). This darwaza has since been replaced by a newly built gate. Also seen in this picture is the inner Ganj wala Darwaza. The large compound between the two gates is known as Ganj Mandi.

Backside of Inner Ganj wala Darwaza viewed from the Kacheri Road side. The road that spans the Ganj Mandi compound before it ends at the outer Ganj wala Darwaza is in a real rundown condition.

Approaching the renovated, OUTER Ganj wala Darwaza (Lahori Gate)from the road that goes to the Railway Station. The great Banyan tree of the pre-1947 era survives. The old tonga stand is gone. The suspension of the train service to and from Malakwal seems to have turned this once busy gateway into a relatively deserted area along the Circular Road.

The large area between the inner and outer Ganj Wale Darwazas. Until 1947, it served as the town's wholesale grains market. Now it appears to have been turned into a kind of free-for-all space for various purposes and trades. At this place there used to be Haji Gulab Darwaza. The gate was located on Circular road between Loharan di Mori Darwaza and Lalu wala Darwaza. Its ruins

The orginal Lalu wala Darwaza (Multani Gate)was built in 1869.

The road that goes from Ganj wala (Lahori) Darwaza to Govt. High School for Women [once K.R.A.S (Arya)High School] and ends up in Shahpur-Malikwal Road. The old Banyan tree is visible on the Darwaza's left side. New for the people who had to leave in 1947 is the three-storey building to the right of the Darwaza.
